The following is a video of a lecture given by Miko Peled in Seattle on October 1st 2012. Peled is a peace activist and is the son of an Israeli General who was one of the commanders in the 1967 war, and what he has to say is interesting and revealing. He favours a one-state solution similar to South Africa where segregation is abolished and everyone lives in equality.
His lecture is over an hour, but I highly recommend watching as he goes through Israel's history, but from the historian's point of view rather than the propaganda which we normally hear. This is an insider's history as well as a humanists, and what he has to say badly needs to be heard:
It's pretty brave of him to say what he does - but I guess he feels he must as only someone with his background (a third generation Israeli) can do so without being trashed by the usual suspects.
It's also worth noting that though Netanyahu supported Romney, 69% of American Jews voted for Obama - it's almost like they were trying to hand him a mandate to oppose Netanyahu. It's important to note this as well as listen to voices like Peled's - though the propagandists would have you believe that all Israelis and all Jews think like Netanyahu, it is just not true.
