
Britain is going a bit Olympics mad, what with hosting the London 2012 games, a wonderfully eccentric British opening ceremony, and a nice haul of gold medals (we are third in the medal table, but when you consider that we only have 63 million people, we are first in terms of medals per capita).
Anyway, Royal Mail has gone a bit gold mad too and has decided to paint post boxes gold in the home towns of the Gold medalists. (They sneak in and do it very early in the morning, so that when people wake up, there's a gold postbox to commemorate the previous night's medal).
It's so the winners' mums can tear up every time they go post a letter and locals can say, see, see, we produced a gold medal winner here in Chorley, or where ever.

Here's what the map looks like at the moment (it may change in future if we win more gold medals!) As I write this we have 22 gold medals so far:
